Ring A2
2018
Ceramic mesh
A2 is the second work of the four circles series. With the same diameter as the other three pieces (sixty centimeters), this ring is structured by a periodic ceramic latticework, which is reproduced in several of the artist’s creations.
The mesh that constitutes it has edges reinforced by a cabochon point; it could be considered as the result of a cold ceramic weaving. It has the advantage of being aesthetic, homogeneous, and very resistant. In addition, it makes it possible to create an object with a unique and fascinating design. The artist works the stone as if it were metal.
He welds together the squares and rectangles of the grid to obtain a work that tends towards abstraction.
The light is once again present and materialized by three halogen lamps placed at the bottom of the loop (two red ones located on either side of a white lamp).

More anchored in space and time
All the elements of the remote-controlled electrical installation are hidden under the base of the ring. This forms a rectified stoneware plate which, by its linearity, soberly underlines the assembly.
Surprisingly, the intersection of the beams through the upper part creates a shadow cast by the structure on the walls and ceiling. The resulting light effect is two-tone: the projected lozenges are white and their edges are red.
The resulting color pattern repeats itself infinitely and radiates the surrounding vertical and horizontal planes. The A2 Ring then appears to become more anchored in space and time.
